we're making progress
So, yesterday and today we all started some storyboarding for ideas 1 and 3. After some discussing we finally chose for idea three, with some modifications though:
- intro; like martins sb, coughing corvo
- birth of Bunch more agressive, coughing, barfing, puking.. quite disgusting, lots of bodymovement. He really needs to get rid of it.. Like a nasty furball..
-Bunch'll need more time to shine; it'll move a bit slow and dramatic in the beginning, suffering, and faster towards the end, where Kra well appear from the bunch of lines.
-at the end, the shadow will attach itself to Corvo.
We'll all work out a new storyboard. Use framing, cuts, holds, camera angles all well. With clever use of them, this thing just might work..!
Hope to have storyboards online tonight already, so we can compose a final sb out of it tomorrow, and start making it a moving storyboard..

first ideas and sketches
So, today [monday] I and Linde have been brainstorming and sketching and we've come up with roughly 3 ideas. We'll try to explain them here, and add some [badly photographed] sketches. Linde has made some as well, one should be able to find them on her blog any time now.
First idea is that the Corvocrow [Martins character], with Lindes character as the 'real shadow' of Corvo, will try to eat Bunch o' Lines [Bunch for friends], like it's a erhm, bunch of worms..? anyway, at a sudden moment the shadow, who has followed him up till now, will try to snatch Bunch for himself. So the shadow will detach himself from Corvo, and'll fly away with it's prey, Bunch. Corvo will stay behind, alone. Does that make any sense?
Second Idea. Starts with Bunch being busy and jumpy, and then forms like wings and paws will be visible in it's erhm, rough and jumpy [jeez.. the words..! I lost all my words!] shape. So Corvo and Kra will get it's shape out of Bunch. There will be some kind of fight to get loose from the bunch of lines. Finally, there won't be any Bunch left, and both of the birds will fly away, just attached till the very last moment, when the line [eg. their paws] that connects them snaps. It's like the very hard birth of a Siamese twin I guess.. Quite abstract, but interesting nevertheless.
Third Idea. This one's a bit more simple, but maybe because of it, could be the best choice for this short project..? It starts with Corvo being the creep he is, walk into the scene. It starts screaming and sqeaking [or how you want to call it] and starts coughing, furball.. He really vomits this bunch of lines, should be quite disgusting, not cartoony and fun, I think.. Bunch comes alive, and after some jumping [gotta find more words for that] and all, Kra will form out of Bunch. Perhaps it flies away as a free bird, or it'll attach itselves tot Corvo, being its shadow... Not too sure bout how it should end..
Though we haven't heard from Martin yet, I hope he's made some sketches and brilliant ideas so tomorrow we can make some decisions and start storyboarding. No idea how that's supposed to work out, but we'll think of something, I guess..

Contact!
So, we finally got contact with our British counterpart [for the ones who didn't know it yet, I teamed up with Linde from StJoost, and Martin form NSAD]. Martin's got Mirage now as well and so the three of us we'll be working all in Mirage. Because all three charaters kinda look a like, we'll try to enlarge that thing and blend them more together by using the same brush in Mirage.
Well, at least that's an idea we came up with so far. I'll update Linde tomorrow and continue brainstorming and sketching, update it here asap. Martin will do the same [and figure out Mirage, how come you guys never heard of that..?] and we'll need to get some sort of storyline quick. I guess a moving storyboard by the end of the week is a nice goal. Would be -really- nice if we could present it on Playgrounds..!
Hope we can make it, but we're going to need our time to animate it.. And add sound to itt as well..
Hope to come with updates soon. But we're started! Yay!

Bunch o' Lines
Well, what can I say about my character? It's just a bunch of lines, hence the name, Bunch o'Lines. It's a grumpy, cranky, short-tempered character [hope I chose all the right words], though perhaps a bit shy and curious. May depend of the situation, and its mood of course, you can't really trust him for that matter.
Bunch o'Lines can take various forms, but will remain a abstract form, it won't be a figurative thingy like Barbapapa. Here are some poses, though it's charactaristics won't really show untill animated I guess, so I'll get to that soon.
*the thumbs may seem a bit grey, but the fullsize pics seem to be doing fine [so, for optimal viewing pleasure, click them! ;]
And we have it in motion as well, though not specifically animated for this project. Bunch o'Lines kinda evolved from this thing, but it will behave sort of alike.
Please feel free to comment, all kinds of suggestions, critiques and comments are more then welcome. [Concerning the grammar and stuff as well, I'm sure it'll be full of faults..]
